A primary school has been set up in the village. Nafargunj Sunrise Nature Model School which is run with the help of revenue from the resort. The children are provided with all their needs from book and stationary. They are also given a mid day meal which is one of the focal points of the school. For many children this is the only complete nutritious meal they might eat for that day. All these are provided to the children free of cost. 

A project conceptualised, implemented and managed by Saving Tiger Society. Started in 2016 with 4 dogs, it is one of the most successful and result oriented projects, it had shown to be extremely useful to the Forest Departments of various states where there have been a high levels of illegal activities and poaching.
The project involves procuring puppies of the Belgian Malinois breed. This breed has shown the best discipline, ability to learn, very alert, adaptable and excellent performance capabilities. They are strong and courageous dogs and very well suited to a high risk, stressful work environment.
This Dog Squad was introduced as it has been established that dogs have a far better capability in detecting foreign objects and are excellent trackers. Their sense of smell is very strong and can detect things from quite a distance. Dogs, specially this breed, the Belgian Malnois, have very good stamina and can be on the field for long hours as well as go very long distances. They have also shown to have the best discipline, ability to learn, adaptable,alert and excellent performance capabilities.
After procurement, they are in training for nine months along with their individual handlers. An extensive training module is designed which includes combined and individual training with the handler, combative situations and an extensive identification training to detect illegal substances, strange smells, unfriendly people and anything suspicious.
Once training is completed, the handler and the dog are assigned to various Forest Departments and are put on active duty.

The work that Saving Tiger Society does is mostly in rural areas, remote locations, forests and areas where it’s mostly nature and wildlife. People who live and work here are constantly handling challenges in their work and their daily lives. The hardship faced by these people on a daily basis is twice as much than any other rural areas.
These places do not come under focus for requirements such as health care and/or the need for doctors to be available at all times. Forests, places like Sundarban are very remote with no easy access to mainstream roads or towns. People are isolated far into the interiors for their work. Sometimes, situations like bad weather, heavy rains etc can cut these people off for weeks without any way out.

Another project supported by the resort are the Awareness campaigns that are held regularly within small school and villages in the sensitive areas of Sundarbans. These programs teach and spread the word about the importance of nature, the conservation of our environment, the protection of wildlife. They live in close contact with their surrounding and live off the resources of the land and need to be educated on minimising damage to endangered eco system and the precious wildlife. These programs have proved to be successful.

The team who you meet at the resort are very accomplished. They are all very knowledgeable about their environment and some of them are experts at animal rescue. This team is on call for any kind of animal rescue operation. The animals can be birds, snakes, larger animals. Sick, injured or trapped animals are all rescued and taken care of till they are healed and can be released back in the wild.

We are organising plantation program throughout the whole year. The need for tree plantation has become even greater these days because of the growing pollution in the environment. Tree plantation involves transplanting tree seedlings to grow forests and spread greenery around.
